Cambrian is a platform where creators of AI-produced music stream and sell their original work. Every track on Cambrian is uploaded by its creator — we do not scrape, generate, or redistribute copyrighted material.
The platform has three pillars: Streaming (listen to the full catalog), Marketplace (buy and license individual tracks), and Hub (manage your library, account, and creator tools).
All creator accounts can stream the Cambrian catalog, browse by genre, search for tracks, and build playlists while they grow their own catalog.
Saving a track from the streaming page adds it to your library for easy access, but saving is not the same as purchasing. Saved tracks can be streamed anytime, but downloading requires a purchase through the Marketplace.
To download a track for offline use, you must purchase it through the Marketplace. Pro Creator accounts and legacy paid tiers can purchase and download tracks.
Tracks that have been "saved" from streaming (without purchasing) appear in your library for convenient streaming, but the download button is disabled. The download button becomes active only after you complete a purchase for that specific track.
Every track on the Marketplace can be purchased under one of two license types:
A non-exclusive license grants you the right to use the track in your own projects (personal or commercial, depending on the terms set by the creator). The track remains available for other buyers to license as well.
An exclusive license transfers full ownership rights to the buyer. Once purchased exclusively, the track is removed from future sale — no new licenses (exclusive or non-exclusive) can be issued.
When someone purchases an exclusive license, it removes the track from future sale but does not revoke any existing non-exclusive licenses. Buyers who already hold a non-exclusive license retain their rights in full.
This means an exclusive buyer may not be the only person with a license to use the track — anyone who purchased a non-exclusive license before the exclusive sale keeps their rights. The exclusive purchase guarantees only that no new licenses will be issued going forward.
A creator uploads "Neon Dreams" and sells 5 non-exclusive licenses at $29 each. Later, another buyer purchases the exclusive license for $499. The 5 existing non-exclusive license holders keep their rights — their licenses remain valid. However, "Neon Dreams" is delisted and no new licenses of any kind can be purchased.
Understanding copyright ownership is essential when buying or selling music on Cambrian. Below is how copyright applies to each license type.
Under a non-exclusive license, the creator remains the copyright holder. Buyers receive a license to use the track, but ownership of the underlying work stays with the creator.
An exclusive license transfers full usage rights to the buyer and removes the track from future sale. A full copyright ownership purchase goes further — it transfers the copyright itself, making the buyer the legal owner of the work.
Every purchase on Cambrian generates a license certificate as an on-chain NFT — a verifiable record of license ownership and provenance. Certificates include:
License certificates are stored permanently, anchored on-chain as NFTs, and can be accessed anytime from your Library. For non-exclusive and exclusive licenses, the NFT serves as proof of licensed rights and provenance; for full copyright ownership purchases, it also records the transfer of ownership rights.
Copyright law for AI-generated works is evolving. In many jurisdictions, purely AI-generated content may not qualify for traditional copyright protection. However, works involving meaningful human creative input (e.g., prompt engineering, arrangement, mixing, post-production) may be eligible.
Cambrian treats every uploaded track as the intellectual property of the submitting creator. Creators affirm that their uploads are original works and do not infringe on any third-party rights. Buyers should be aware that the enforceability of copyright may vary by jurisdiction.

Pro Creator members can upload unlimited tracks to the Marketplace. Free Creator accounts can upload up to 3 tracks, then upgrade when they need more capacity.
Pro Creators earn 85% of every sale (15% platform fee). Free Creators earn 65% (35% platform fee).
Creators set their own prices for both non-exclusive and exclusive licenses. The backend enforces canonical pricing — clients never transmit monetary values.
Track prices are validated server-side. The client never sends monetary values — preventing price manipulation.
Every track on Cambrian is creator-submitted original AI-produced music. We do not host scraped or copyrighted material.
Saved card references are scoped per user. Logging out clears billing data to prevent cross-account leaks.
Existing licenses are immutable. Exclusive purchases prevent future sales but never revoke previously issued licenses.
